It seems that sometimes the aircraft count is lost. In February, AirAsia boasted the 100 Airbus A320 aircraft and even prepared a special livery. The aircraft was painted with a dragon, a very beautiful livery!

Well, the reality is a little different. Official, AirAsia received the 100 Airbus A320 aircraft these days. The ceremony took place at the delivery base in Toulouse, France. Thus, the Asian airline has the largest fleet of A320 in the world.

A decade ago, AirAsia operated two A320 aircraft and transported approximately 200 000 passengers annually. Currently, about two decades after its establishment, the low-cost airline plans to carry annually up to 33 millions of passengers, being the largest low-cost operator in South East Asia.

And they won't stop here. AirAsia already has orders over 370 of A320 aircraft, including the A320 Neo. The operator's plan is as ambitious as possible. In the future they will operate routes that have not been honored by other airlines and will even support the opening of new airports.

AirAsia, through its 5 subsidiaries: Thai AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia, AirAsia Philippines, AirAsia X and AirAsia Japan, fly to 78 destinations and honor daily over 400 flights.

I say that Air Asia is not the largest low cost carrier in South East Asia. I say that Lion Group is including Lion Air, Thai Lion, Wings Air, Malindo and Batik Air. In their fleet are found over 100 Boeing 737NG, over 55 ATR-72, Airbus A30, Airbus A330 and Boeing 747. By the way, we also have Romanians who work for them.
