Short and to the object: Benjamin Ismail, chief executive officer AirAsia X, has confirmed to Routesonline that AirAsia X intends to resume flights to Europe starting with 2018.

AirAsia X in Europe

AirAsia X, the low-cost subsidiary AirAsia, was established in 2007. Currently, the fleet consists of 31 Airbus A330-300 aircraft. They are configured in 2 classes and can carry up to 377 passengers. AirAsia X flies to 19 destinations in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, India, China, Saudi Arabia.

The AirAsia X operator's future plan is ambitious. From 2018 it will receive Airbus A330-900neo and A350-900 XWB aircraft. With their entry into the commercial service, AirAsia X intends to resume flights to Europe.

The plan is to resume flights to London Gatwick and find a European partner for codeshare flights. According to Benyamin Ismail, easyJet is in the spotlight for a European partnership. The British low-cost operator is very close to the AirAsia x business model. We remind you that AirAsia X flew to London Stansted, using Airbus A340-300 aircraft.

How about Kuala Lumpur - Barcelona flights via Istanbul, the information was wrong. Ismail said it was just a test. AirlinesTravel.ro has stated from the beginning that the route will not be operated by AirAsia X nor publish an article about it. Our sources (thank you) warned us that it was a simple error in the system.

AirAsia X is expected in Europe with open arms. We need low cost flights to Asia, and AirAsia Group has great rates. We will come back with information on this topic!
