airBaltic launches the Riga - Bucharest route, from 3 June to 2014

From June 3, 2014, airBaltic, the Latvian airline, will launch the Riga - Bucharest route. Four weekly flights will be operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, according to the following schedule:

BT503: RIX 09:35 - 12:20 OTP - Wednesday, Friday
BT504: OTP 12:50 - 15:40 RIX - Wednesday, Friday

BT505: RIX 15:55 - 18:40 OTP - Tuesday, Saturday
BT506: OTP 19:10 - 22:00 RIX - Tuesday, Saturday

The flights will be operated by Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 NextGen aircraft and will take 2 hours and 55 minutes. The fare will start from 179 EUR for return flights Riga-Bucharest-Riga. The tariff for Business Elite will start from 635 from EUR.

The interesting part is that Bucharest-Riga-Bucharest will have the starting price from 188 EUR.

AirBaltic has also launched a free shuttle service between Riga airport and Valmiera, Jekabpils, Jelgava and Daugavpils (Latvia); Tartu (Estonia) and Siauliai (Lithuania). Once you have booked the flight, you can also request the bus transfer from / to the airport. You must be at the station at least 10 minutes before departure and provide proof of purchase of the air ticket. The timetables for the connecting buses are synchronized with the AirBaltic flights from Riga airport.
