Aircalin, the New Caledonian airline, received the first Airbus A320neo aircraft. It, registered F-OTIB and named "Tibarama", will join the other 2 Airbus A330neo aircraft that the carrier already owns.
The A320neo aircraft will be configured in a single class, with a total of 168 seats and will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1000 engines.

The A320neo family offers the widest narrow-body cabin (single aisle) and incorporates the latest technologies, including new generation engines and a new "Sharklets" wing inspired by the A350.
It also offers a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and 50% less noise compared to previous generation aircraft.
At the end of November 2020, Airbus had received 7.455 firm orders from over 120 customers worldwide for A320neo aircraft.
