On August 26, the Airbus A220 aircraft, wearing the colors Air France, operated the first flight. This flight of testing is the final part of the assembly phase and a major step before the delivery process of the Airbus A220.

The aircraft took off from the production site at Mirabel Airport in Canada, landing - a few hours later. On board the aircraft were also Airbus representatives who performed various tests during the flight.

This flight is performed to ensure the compliance of the aircraft and the proper functioning of all systems in flight. This is the first of 60 Airbus A220-300 aircraft ordered by the company to replace the A318 and A319 Airbuses used for short and medium haul flights.

Although the official entry into the Air France fleet is not scheduled until the end of September, the Air France Airbus A220 will fly again for another major test in the delivery process, the customer acceptance flight.

This is the first of 60 Airbus A220-300 aircraft ordered by Air France.

During the flight, Airbus teams, this time accompanied by Air France teams, will verify the aircraft's compliance with the specifications required by Air France. This new phase will mark the beginning of training flights in real conditions before the first commercial flights.

With a capacity of 148 seats and an operating range of 2.300 nautical miles, the A220-300 is perfectly adapted to the Air France network for short and medium-haul flights. Joining the fleet will significantly improve the customer experience.

The latest generation Airbus A220 embodies Air France's commitment to sustainable development - it uses 20% less fuel than the aircraft it replaces and has a 34% lower noise footprint compared to an older generation aircraft. It will play a decisive role in achieving Air France's objectives, including a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions in absolute terms on the Paris-Orly internal network and on interregional routes by 2024 and a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions per passenger. / km until 2030.
