This is the second aircraft to be named after the country. The first was a Boeing 747-200, which was delivered to TAP in February 1972.

The Retro Livery painted on the aircraft represents the image of TAP Portugal from the 1950-1970 years. Displays the name Transportes Aéreos Portugueses and the logo used at the time. The first aircraft painted in this scheme was the Lockheed Super Constellation, and the last one was a Boeing 727-200.
