Airbus A350 XWB is ready for ground tests

On 25 October, Airbus inaugurated the assembly line for the Airbus A350 XWB aircraft type. About a month after opening, the first aircraft body came out A350 XWB. The structure will be used for ground tests. The trouble is just beginning!

First Airbus A350 XWB it was transferred from the final assembly line, to the L34 room, in the Lagardère industrial area. The building has an area of ​​10 000 square meters and houses a platform of 2.500 tons, plus 240 of objects that are used to induce structural loads. During peak hours, about 34 employees work in the L200 room. All tests will be recorded by 12 000 by sensors.

In other words, the body of the first Airbus A350 XWB will be subjected to special tests for approximately 1 year. The maximum load to which it can withstand will be checked and many other situations that may occur in the normal use regime will be simulated.

As you can see from the picture, the A350 XWB takes shape. Will be sold in 3 variants: Airbus A350-800 XWB, Airbus A350-900 XWB and Airbus A350-1000 XWB. So far, 562 aircraft have been pre-ordered. The launch operator for the A350 XWB is Qatar Airways, which ordered 80 units. The first flight is scheduled for 2013, this after the first A350 XWB will pass all ground tests, and the first delivery is expected in 2014.
