Airbus A350 XWB took off on world tour - 3 weeks, 4 routes, 6 continents, 14 cities

On 24 July 2014, Airbus A350-900 XWB (MSN5) took off in the final phase for certification. It includes a 3-week "world tour", during which 4 routes are scheduled. The newest Airbus passenger plane will fly to 14 major airports on 6 continents.

These tournaments are designed to check the performance of the aircraft Airbus A350 XWB. The plane will fly from Europe to Australia, South America, North America, Africa and even across the North Pole. It will pass through temperature differences, automatic landings, ground services will be tested, and some flights will also have passengers on board. The tests are part of the final stage for certification, this being programmed for Q3 2014. The first delivery is scheduled for Q4 2014, the launch customer being Qatar Airways.

The aircraft Airbus A350-900 XWB (MSN5) it is equipped with a functional comlet interior, having two classes: 42 of seats in the business class and 223 of seats in the economy class.

All 4 routes start from Toulouse. Below are the scheduled routes with the corresponding destinations:

Airbus currently has 5 aircraft A350 XWB involved in the test program, which reached 540 of flights and 2250 of flying hours. A350 is the newest Widebody from Airbus. It promises 25% lower fuel consumption compared to similar models on the market. The Airbus A350 XWB family comprises 3 members (276-369 seats): A350-800, A350-900 and A350-1000. At the end of June 2014, Airbus had orders received for 742 A350 XWB units from 38 customers worldwide.
