The new assembly line will be located at Mobile Aeroplex in Brookley, adjacent to the A320 family production line. It will facilitate the assembly of A220-100 and A220-300 aircraft for US customers.

The A220 complements the Airbus offer on the 100-150 seats segment. At the same time, it is a fuel efficient model and offers increased comfort to passengers.

The A220 combines state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials and the new PW1500G Pratt & Whitney engines. The Airbus A220 has a range of up to 5920 km.

So far, the A220 model has registered orders for 500 aircraft, and the statistics are optimistic. Over the next 20 years, Airbus estimates a market of approximately 7000 of aircraft on the 100-150 segment of seats.
