Airbus Helicopters Romania delivers 5 H225 helicopters to its client in Ukraine

Airbus Helicopters Romania has completed the delivery procedure of 5 reconfigured H225 helicopters to the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine, during an acceptance ceremony that took place at its headquarters in Ghimbav.

In 2018, Airbus Helicopters and the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine signed a contract for the modification of 21 H225 helicopters from the offshore configuration to the SAR (search and rescue) configuration, tactical transport and law enforcement. Airbus Helicopters Romania is performing the works for a total of 15 of this number of aircraft from 2019 onwards, at its headquarters in Ghimbav. Work on the H225 project includes major inspections for the refurbishment and incorporation of special equipment such as EOS, searchlights, a Bambi throwing device and EMS equipment.

The newly upgraded helicopters will be used for search and rescue missions in difficult conditions and air interventions for critical medical cases, firefighting, law enforcement and tactical transport.

"The H225 project was one of the most complex we had in terms of work performed, but also the number of helicopters allocated. We had a dedicated team, Romanian and French colleagues doing everything possible to ensure high quality services and we are very proud that we delivered the aircraft on time ", said Georges Durdilly, General Manager of Airbus Helicopters Romania.

The H225 is the latest version of the Airbus Super Puma family with proven capabilities, which has accumulated over 5,8 million flight hours during operations around the world, in the harshest conditions, including severe ice and sea conditions. extremely challenging, addressing a wide range of missions such as commercial air transport, SAR, law enforcement, firefighting, medical evacuation (medevac), humanitarian, disaster relief and air operations.

As a benchmark in its field, the H225 helicopter's autopilot offers accuracy, stability, flight tire protection and pilot assistance - including superior dedicated search and rescue (SAR) modes. The H225 and its military version - the H225M - have been selected and operated by 20 countries for SAR missions around the world.

Airbus is present in Romania with all its three divisions: Airbus Helicopters Romania (2002) and Premium Aerotec (2009) in Brașov and Airbus Defense and Space (2005) in Bucharest.
