Officially, Airbus has inaugurated the new assembly line for A220 aircraft in Mobile, Alabama. The new 270.000-square-meter plant, which can produce the A220-100 and A220-300 versions, houses five primary assembly stations.
The Airbus production team from Mobile, Alabama scored another premiere. It received the first components for the new A220 JetBlue. This low cost carrier will be the second Airbus customer to receive the US-built A220. This aircraft will be delivered at the end of 2020.

But Airbus is already producing the A220 at its Alabama base. Starting with August 2019, the European aircraft manufacturer started assembling an A220 at the factory in the United States, only it did so on the line dedicated to A320 aircraft. As of May 2020, the A220 has its own assembly line in Mobile, Alabama.
Be it between us, the assembly line in Mobile, Alabama is the second in which the A220 can be assembled. The primary production unit and headquarters of the A220 program are located in Mirabel, Canada, where the research and development offices are located.
