Bucharest airports in 2016: 10,99 millions of passengers
New records on passenger traffic for Bucharest airports!
The Bucharest Airports National Company registered in 2016, on the two airports of the Capital - Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport and the Bucharest Băneasa-Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, a record number of 10,99 million passengers.
They were also recorded 120 700 of aircraft movements (landings and take-offs). In total, 10,98 million passengers and 108,2 thousands of aircraft movements were registered on AIHCB.

Compared to the year 2015, the number of passengers who transited the airports of Bucharest in 2016 registered an increase of 18,3%.
The evolution of the number of passengers on the two airports of the National Company Bucharest Airports exceeds the general tendency registered at European level. In addition, the number of aircraft movements has registered a substantial increase in the airports of the Capital, ahead of this trend the European trend.
Thus, last year, the number of aircraft movements at Bucharest airports increased by 11,2% compared to the same period of the year 2015.
In the year 2016, 85% of the passengers of Henri Coandă Airport had as origin or destination airports in the states of the European Union.
On the Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport, last year 37 was operated by airlines, which transported passengers to 92 from destinations.
