Alaska Airlines received the 100 Boeing 737 Next Generation

On 14 January 2014, Boeing and Alaska Airlines announced an agreement for two Boeing 737-900ER (Extended Range) aircraft, with the order valued at $ 192 million. It all coincided with the delivery of the Boeing 737 Next Generation with the number 100 to the Alaska Airlines fleet.

The order placed and the delivery of the aircraft with the 100 number were celebrated in a festive setting attended by 50 of Boeing employees and 50 of Alaska Airlines employees.

The Boeing 737-900ER (Extended Range) is the newest member of the Boeing 737 family and can carry up to 26 more passengers compared to the Boeing 737-900. At the same time, Boeing 737-900ER (Extended Range) can fly up to 926 km longer. Alaska Airlines-operated Boeing 737-900ER (Extended Range) aircraft are configured in two classes and can carry up to 181 passengers. They also benefit from the Boeing Sky interior.

Alaska Airlines has 131 fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, including 14 Boeing 737-900ER (Extended Range) units. In command are 68 Boeing 737-900ER and 737 MAX units. The first B737-900ER arrived in the Alaska fleet in October 2012, and the first B737 Next Generation aircraft arrived in July 1999, with the delivery of a B737-700.
