American Airlines intends to order Airbus A321XLR (Xtra Long Range) aircraft to replace 34 with Boeing 757-200 aircraft, according to the site newsinflight.com.

Airbus A321XLR is an officially launched model, but everyone is talking about. It is assumed that it will come equipped with additional tanks. It will have increased range up to 8300 kilometers, over the A321neo and A321LR models. A321XLR will have flight autonomy with 1.5 hours over A321LR.

American Airlines wants A321XLR

We expect Airbus to launch the new A321XLR at the Paris Air Show 2019. The new plane will enter operational service somewhere in 2023-2024.

The Airbus A321XLR has attracted the attention of major airlines, such as British Airways IAG, JetBlue Airways and IndiGo from India. And if we take into account the problems of the 737 MAX, the Airbus A321XLR only has to win. We remind you that American Airlines suspended flights with 737 MAX until September.

American Airlines has the largest fleet in the world. Operates directly on 960 aircraft, including 222 Airbus A321 aircraft. With its subsidiaries, the American group owns over 1500 of aircraft.
