Amsterdam - Jakarta with Garuda Indonesia, from 30 to 2014

On 5 March 2014, Garuda joined SkyTeam and became the 20 full member. Garuda added Jakarta as an alternative gateway to Southeast Asia, as well as 40 of unique destinations on the network SkyTeam.

And if I remembered Jakarta, Garuda Indonesia will open the direct route Amsterdam - Jakarta, from 30 to 2014. 5 flights will be operated weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The flights will be honored with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft configured in 3 classes (314 seats): 8 seats in First Class, 38 in Business Class and 268 in Economy Class.

Below you have the operational program on the route Amsterdam - Jakarta:

GA088 CGK 00: 55 - 09: 40 AMS 77W x24
GET AMS 089: 12 - 35: 07 + 15 CGK 1W x77

Garuda Indonesia has confirmed it will abandon the direct route Jakarta - London-Gatwick, which was due to open on 28 May 2014, but will offer 5 weekly flights via Amsterdam from September 8 to 2014. Below is the operational schedule announced for the Jakarta - Amsterdam - London-Gatwick route and return:

GA088 CGK 00: 55 - 09: 40 AMS 11: 45 - 11: 50 LGW 77W - Saturday
GA088 CGK 00: 55 - 09: 40 AMS 11: 50 - 11: 55 LGW 77W - Friday
GA088 CGK 00: 55 - 09: 40 AMS 11: 55 - 12: 00 LGW 77W - Mondays, Wednesdays, Sundays

GA089 LGW 13: 05 - 15: 15 AMS 17: 00 - 11: 40 + 1 CGK 77W - Sunday
GA089 LGW 13: 10 - 15: 15 AMS 17: 00 - 11: 40 + 1 CGK 77W - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

As is normal and logical, Garuda Indonesia has chosen to make more use of the Amsterdam-Schiphol hub and wants to provide passengers with new opportunities to travel to Europe by expanding their partnership with KLM and the SkyTeam alliance. The delay in opening the Amsterdam - London route is explained by the lack of slots at London-Gatwick airport in the summer season and does not offer the ideal timetable between the two European cities.

Also, Garuda Indonesia will give up the route Jakarta - Abu Dhabi - Amsterdam, from 29 to 2014. Currently, the route is operated with a frequency of 6 weekly flights, to be reduced to 4 weekly flights, between 12-29 and 2014. Flights are honored with Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

For now, everything is being questioned. Currently, the runways and runways of Soekarno – Hatta International Airport in Jakarta need to be strengthened to support aircraft such as Boeing 777-300ER.

A long flight from Amsterdam to Jakarta ...

By the way, I took off with 777-300ER from the Jakarta airport, I do not know if the real problem is with the consolidation of the runways (there are two) and they land there frequently and other big planes (747).
