An Airbus A330 Air France aircraft was "received" with firearms in Congo

On April 11, the Airbus A330-200 (F-GZCK) Air France operated a repatriation flight on the route Paris - Pointe Noire, Congo. Unfortunately, the plane was "received" with gunfire. The unfortunate event was confirmed by Air France. There were no injuries.

A local policeman, in charge of the airport guard, fired two shots at the French aircraft. One bullet penetrated the fuselage, the second ricocheted. Both cartridges and the charger from which they were pulled were found. The weapon used, a kalashnikov.

It is not yet known why the man resorted to this gesture, but he was arrested immediately. A part of the international press mentioned that the policeman was under the influence of alcohol.

Return flight AF4145 was delayed by 24 hours. The damaged aircraft is grounded for repairs. It was replaced by a Boeing 777-200ER Air France, which flew to Congo to take over the 220 French passengers, stranded in Congo because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
