At the end of June, the Airbus A340-300 Air Tahiti Nui (F-OSUN) was withdrawn from operational service and sent to dismantling at the Airplane Cemetery in Victorville, Southern California.

The withdrawal flight was operated on June 26, 2019, in the direction of Papeete, Tahiti (French Polynesia) - Honolulu, Hawaii - Victorville, United States.

Airbus A340-300 is an aircraft dedicated to long flights. It can normally fly non-stop on the distance Papeete - Victorville. But the retreat flight was operated in 3 engines and needed a technical stopover.

It is not known why one of the engines was specifically blocked, including the blades being fixed so as not to rotate in flight. But this is less important.

Air Tahiti Nui Airbus A340-300 (F-OSUN) took off in 3 with no passengers. Being so easy that the central jamb did not even touch the ground.

The point is that many say about A340-300 that it takes off just because the Earth is round. It's a joke among the fans of airplanes. And it all starts with the fact that A340-300 has a fuselage of A330, but uses 4 engines of the CFM International type CFM56, engines used in the A320 family of aircraft. The older brothers A340-500 and A340-600 use much more powerful engines, such as the Rolls-Royce Trent 500.

And because of the weight / power ratio, the A340-300 plane behaves differently when taking off compared to other aircraft. Above you have the take-off of an A340-300 in the operational service.
