The company estimates that about 30.000 of passengers will be transported annually between Arad and Milan-Bergamo. The President of the Arad County Council, Nicolae Ioţcu, said that negotiations are under way with other operators, and a possible new route will be between Arad and Brussels.
Ioţcu said that a contract with a freight air carrier would be signed soon, which would increase traffic by 300 percent on the Cargo terminal within the local airport, now used at a capacity of only 20 percent.
With the launch of the low-cost flight to Milan-Bergamo, the air base in Arad is re-launching for regular passenger transport, after a pause of almost two years, during which time only charter and freight flights were registered.
