Emergency landing at Belfast International Airport

An aircraft belonging to Thomas Cook Airlines was forced to land at Belfast International Airport in an emergency.

The aircraft had taken off at 10 GMT with 175 passengers on board and was forced to return to the airport after a technical malfunction was reported on the running train. The landing took place under normal conditions at 11.30 GMT, with no casualties and other unpleasant incidents. The passengers landed and were taken by another aircraft to Tenerife.

All the emergency services of the airport were alert and ready to intervene when the plane landed.
