ATR in 2016: 80 of delivered aircraft and 36 of registered orders

We tend to write frequently about Airbus and Boeing, but we can't overlook smaller manufacturers. ATR (Regional Air Transport or Air Transport; Regional Air Transport in English) is a French-Italian manufacturer of turboprop aircraft.

ATR in 2016

It is a company owned in equal proportions (50% -50%) by Airbus Group and Leonardo SpA. It was established in 1981 and is headquartered in Toulouse-Blagnac, France. Produces 2 types of turboprop aircraft: ATR 42 and ATR 72. They are dedicated to short, domestic and regional flights.

The year 2016 was not too bright for ATR, but the company officials consider it good in a busy market and announces the consolidation on the 50-90 segment of seats, with a share of 35%.

ATR has failed to reach the target of 88 of aircraft sold, but those 80 of aircrafte out the factory gate puts 2016 in the top 3 best of the company. The best year remains 2014 with 160 of units sold. At the same time, 2016 is the year with the highest turnover registered by ATR - 1.8 billion.

Even when registering orders is not very good, but ATR officials guarantee at least 3 years of production, being overdue for 212 units. 2016 Brings Orders for 36 Aircraft to French-Italian Manufacturer's Landing. The ATR 72-600 it is successful and is the most ordered.

Avian Lineas Aéreas ordered 12 ATR units 72-600. Aeromar and Binter each 6 aircraft ATR 72-600, and PNG Air and Azul Linhas Aéreas several 5 units. Binter also ordered 2 ATR 42-600.

ATR NO TAROM

It should be mentioned that and TAROM has 9 ATR aircraft in his navy fleet. Last fall, the company recorded some incidents with these aircraft, but collaborated with ATR representatives to resolve them.
