Austrian Airlines has announced the operational program for the 2021 summer season.

"With our summer offer, we have returned to a pre-pandemic level in the tourism segment. Demand is good, people want to travel. In addition, the new travel facilities for Austria and various European countries help us - far from quarantine with the help of vaccination certificates, testing and recovery from the disease ", says Michael Trestl, Director of Services at Austrian Airlines.

From 19 May, quarantine will no longer be mandatory for many countries upon entry into Austria. It will be replaced by mandatory proof of vaccination, testing or recovery from the virus. This is true for Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain, among others.

At the same time, these countries have relaxed travel restrictions. Into the Greece, travelers no longer have to stand in self-isolation on arrival. Travelers entering the country only need to register and present a vaccination certificate or the negative result of a PCR test. Into the Italy, the previous quarantine obligation for passengers has expired, and passengers must present negative result of a PCR test. Into the Spania, depending on the country of origin, passengers now need to provide proof of testing only.

From 19 May, quarantine will no longer be mandatory for many countries upon entry into Austria.

Passengers choosing to fly with Austrian Airlines to Germany, Greece and Spain also have the opportunity to upload travel documents and check them in advance using CommonPass application. Voluntary loading is possible up to 12 hours before the departure of the flight. The result of the pre-check will be sent by e-mail no later than four hours before departure. In combination with the flexible and tax-free booking options offered by Austrian Airlines, passengers can thus plan their holiday without worries.

And Germany relaxed travel restrictions. Again, the quarantine requirement has been replaced by mandatory proof of vaccination, testing or recovery from the disease, unless the travelers come from an area with a high incidence or where there is a new variant of the virus. Antigen tests must not be older than 48 hours, and PCR tests must have been performed no later than 72 hours in advance.

As of the end of this week, Austrian Airlines' portfolio of destinations to Germany is complete again. The local Austrian carrier will fly again from Vienna to ten destinations in Germany, and the offer will be increased successively.
