Wizz Air base in Vienna - 3 planes and 17 routes
Wizz Air today announces the addition of Austria, the 44 country, in its network, by establishing an operational base at Vienna Airport.
Wizz Air will open its base in Vienna with an Airbus A320 aircraft in June, which will be followed by the allocation of two other Aribus A321 aircraft in November. The Vienna base is expanding rapidly, so Wizz Air will operate a total of 17 new routes from the Austrian capital to 2018.

The base represents a Wizz Air investment worth 331 million dollars and 120 direct jobs within the company. Wizz Air operations will also contribute to the local economy, supporting more jobs in aviation, transportation, hotel and tourism industries.
With an expanded offer, both for business and holiday destinations, the new routes will connect Vienna with Gdansk, Tuzla and Varna in April, with Bari, Malta, Rome, Valencia and Tel Aviv from June and with Billund, Bergen , Dortmund, Kutaisi, Larnaca, Nis, Ohrid, Tenerife and Thessaloniki in November. In 2018, Wizz Air will offer 450.000 seats for sale on Austrian routes, operating 69 weekly flights from Vienna Airport until the end of the year.
