Even though 2 has been going on for weeks since the route was inaugurated, we think it is useful to announce it. EasyJet, one of the largest low-cost operators in Europe, opened the route Berlin - Sofia.
From 2 April 2013, the British operator opened the route between Berlin - Schönefeld and Sofia, and the target is 30 000 of passengers by the end of the year. There are 4 weekly flights, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, according to the following schedule:
- On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays, the plane leaves Berlin at 10: 55 and landing at Sofia at 14 time: 40. The return flight is scheduled for 14: 40 with the landing in Berlin for the time 16: 00.
- The situation is a little different on Saturday. It takes off from Berlin at 12: 00 upon arrival at Sofia at 15 time: 15, and the return flight takes off at 15: 45 and reaches the capital of Germany at 17: 05.
EasyJet has two competitors on this route and we are talking about Air Berlin and Bulgaria Air, but both operators fly on Tegel. For easyJet it is the 4-open route to Sofia, after those operated from London - Gatwick and Stansted and Manchester.
For the route Berlin - Sofia, the price of a return ticket starts from about 100 EUR. I did a simulation for April 25-28 and got a price of 134 dollars, about 100 EUR.
EasyJet has also operated in Romania, but has dropped out of the market due to competition. But it develops very well in the southern neighbors.
