Air Moldova successfully concluded the negotiations with the low-cost company Blue Air and for sale the first low-cost tickets in Chisinau.
As of July 9, Air Moldova passengers can purchase tickets from 99 euros in one direction, with all taxes included, for five new destinations.
To begin with, there will be flights to 5 European destinations:
- Brussels (Belgium)
- Madrid, Valencia, Malaga (Spain)
- Catania (Italy)
In the first period the tickets can be purchased only at the Air Moldova Agency (bd. Negruzzi 10, daily 8:00 - 20:00).
In the meantime, Air Moldova is developing an online low-cost ticket sales platform. As soon as the online sales platform is operational, the public will be informed in a press release about the new way to buy tickets.
The low-cost tickets put up for sale are for the period July 16 - September 30. For flights operated in collaboration with Blue Air, the rules of the operator will apply for each segment. They will be applied on the Chisinau-Bucharest segment Air Moldova rules for luggage transport.
For the Bucharest-Madrid / Brussels / Malaga / Catania / Valencia segments will be applied Blue Air baggage transport rules.
Low cost prices are possible due to the collaboration between Air Moldova and the low cost company Blue Air. The national air carrier will make the transfer from Chisinau to Bucharest, where the passenger will fly with the Blue Air plane.
The negotiations were not simple, for the current season all tickets for most of the low cost Blue Air flights were already sold. The specificity of the low-cost flights requires the purchase of the ticket in time. Air Moldova and Blue Air have identified a possibility to offer low-cost fares from Chisinau this summer.
