Update 24.02.2022: Blue Air official position

“We are working closely with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to remedy the situation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. The next steps in resolving this situation will be defined after the scheduled meeting between Blue Air and CAA representatives, which will take place in the coming weeks. "

Initial story: Romanian airline Blue Air Aviation has been fined £ 40.000 after pleading guilty to six offenses related to passenger location forms and Covid-19 tests.

The prosecution and fine will allow Blue Air Aviation to receive notices of fixed penalties (FPN) for violating the requirements of Covid-19, which it did not pay or did not attempt to resolve with the CAA.

Five of the offenses relate to the fact that Blue Air Aviation did not ensure that passengers traveling to London Heathrow filled in the passenger location form. Deviations were reported last month.

The sixth violation refers to the fact that the operator did not make sure that a passenger who traveled to London had the necessary evidence to show that he had completed a Covid test before departure.

The fine was issued following a hearing in Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on February 22, 22. Paul Smith, director of the CAA, said: "We welcome the court's decision to fine Blue Air Aviation for violations of Covid-19 regulations. Although we generally see high levels of compliance by airlines with regulations, it is important for consumer confidence and public health that non-compliance is properly addressed..

"It is important that airlines, including Blue Air, continue to abide by the rules of travel. The UK Civil Aviation Authority will sue for breaches of compliance where necessary ”.
