Blue Air announces that during August 15 - September 30, 2020, planned flights to the Airport Bacau will be transferred to the International Airport Suceava. Passengers will benefit from a free shuttle bus. The flight schedule and flight code remain unchanged for most of the affected flights and moved to Suceava Airport.

Following the decision of the Bacău International Airport Administration, regarding the temporary closure of the airport between August 15 and September 30, 2020 for the modernization works, Blue Air is forced to transfer the planned flights to the airports in the region.

39 flights a week are affected

"The temporary closure of Bacau International Airport affects 39 flights per week, and Blue Air has taken all measures to minimize the discomfort created to its passengers during this period. We managed to keep the planned flight schedule operational and to temporarily transfer the affected flights to Suceava Airport, ensuring the free transfer by bus between Bacău and Suceava Airports. We hope that the impact on the travel experience of our passengers will be minimal, and we will use this period to better understand whether or not there is a demand for Blue Air flights from Northern Moldova. ” says Oana Petrescu, CEO of Blue Air.

All Blue Air passengers affected by the temporary closure of Bacau Airport receive new travel details and notifications regarding the services and options available to them via SMS and e-mail.

Passengers who decide not to travel in the context of these changes have the following options:

  • requesting a full refund of the amount related to the reservation in the e-wallet individual Blue Air
  • requesting a full refund of the amount related to the reservation cash to the method of payment used to purchase the ticket.

For processing refund requests

For the processing of refund requests, passengers whose reservations have been created through Blue Air (Customer Service or directly on the site www.flyblueair.com) can contact Blue Air directly at the e-mail address [email protected].

Due to the high volume of recent incidents caused by the COVID pandemic, cash repayment can take more than 10 weeks.

As for passengers whose bookings have been made through a travel agency, they are asked to contact the travel agent directly, as Blue Air does not have all the details needed to deal with these requests.

In the case of flights affected by the closure of Bacău Airport that were canceled, without a correspondent on the same day from the airports in the region, passengers can opt for free rebooking or recovery of amounts in the individual Blue Wallet electronic wallet.
