In the 7 years of AirlinesTravel.ro, I wrote about the great aeronautical projects, about airplanes, airlines and airports. I published articles with the first flights operated by the newest aircraft in the world.

However, in this article I will write about completing a stage in global commercial aviation. Specifically, the Boeing 727 stage has ended.

The Boeing 727 program was active from 1962 to 1984. More than 1800 aircraft were built. Boeing has designed several models from the 727 family, for cargo and passengers: 727-100, 727-200, 727-200F, 727-200C.

Most Boeing 727 aircraft have been withdrawn from commercial service and scrapped. Except for some cargo types, which are in government and military services.

The last commercial passenger flight in the world operated by a Boeing 727

At the end of last year, there were several dedicated to commercial passenger flights. They were gradually withdrawn at the beginning of the new year.

And on 13 January 2019, the Boeing 727 (EP-ASB) aircraft operated its last commercial passenger flight, being the last commercial passenger flight in the world operated by a Boeing 727.

In other words, you will no longer have the opportunity to enjoy the experience of a commercial flight operated by a Boeing 727.

Boeing 727 (EP-ASB) was approximately 39 years old and ended its operations under the colors of Iran Aseman Airlines. The history of this aircraft began in 1980, along with Air France.

It was configured in a class with 175 seats, and the propulsion was provided by 3 Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines. The last commercial passenger flight was on the route Zahedan - Tehran.
