Blue Air today launched, in honor of the 100 anniversary of the Great Union, the Boeing 737 custom aircraft on the fuselage with the portrait of King Ferdinand I.

It is a pride for the company to carry the history of Romania throughout Europe and to inspire future generations by promoting Romanian values!

In the presence of His Majesty Margareta, the Guardians of the Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu, Blue Air officials unveiled the new livery on the vertical landing of the Boeing 737-800NG (YR-BMG) aircraft.

This is a portrait of King Ferdinand I, the second king of Romania, and the Blue Air initiative comes as a tribute to those who have dedicated themselves to the accomplishment of national unity.

“In the 100 years since the victorious entry of King Ferdinand I and Queen Mary into Bucharest, we pay tribute to the man known as the country guard.

It is a pride for Blue Air to carry Romania's history to the heights! Today, we pay tribute to King Ferdinand I, who will always be bound by the conscience of the fulfilled debt and the most important act in the history of Romania: The Great Union from 1918 ”, said Blue Air CEO Marius Puiu at the event organized at Otopeni Airport.

Blue Air carries Romania's history to the next level

The first custom Blue Air aircraft on the fuselage with the portrait of King Ferdinand I will take place on Wednesday, December 11th, from Otopeni Airport to Stuttgart.

In the coming days, the Boeing 737-800NG, the newest model in the Blue Air fleet, will arrive in Sibiu, Iasi, Dublin, Tel Aviv, London, Cluj-Napoca, Lisbon, Liverpool, Paris and Bacau.

It is the second aircraft Blue Air dedicates to the Centenary. In July, the company launched another Boeing 737-800NG customized on vertical engraving with the portrait of Carol I.

The initiative of the company does not stop here, and in the next period will follow other Blue Air aircraft customized on the fuselage with the logo of the Centenary of the Great Union and with photos of important personalities from our modern history.

In 2017, Blue Air carried 5.061.790 passengers on 106 routes in 16 countries. This year she was awarded the TripAdvisor Travelers 'Choice Award 2018, the Travelers' Choice Low Cost Carrier section for the Europe area.

In Bucharest, Blue Air won the trophy for “The best low-cost airline in Romania, within the TopHotels Awards 2018 Gala.

As for the number of passengers estimated in 2018, an increase of 10% is expected compared to the previous year.
