In July 2018, the first Boeing 737 MAX 8 Turkish Airlines would arrive in Istanbul. Starting with 30 July 2018, it will also operate the first commercial flights on the Istanbul - Ankara route.

Subsequently, as others enter the Turkish carrier fleet, they will begin flights on domestic and international routes.

Boeing 737 MAX 8 Turkish Airlines will be configured in 2 classes and will be able to carry up to 151 passengers: 16 seats at Business Class and 135 seats at Economy Class.
