Boeing 787-9 KLM and the first announced destinations
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) has opened reservations for the first flight to be operated with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. It will take place on October 25, 2015, on the route Amsterdam - Bahrain via Abu Dhabi. Then, KLM will introduce B787 to destinations: Cairo, Egypt, Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador and Xiamen, China.
From 25 October to 2015: Amsterdam - Abu Dhabi - Bahrain - 1 flight a day, will replace Boeing 777-200ER aircraft;

KL0438: BAH 22:30 - 06:05 AMS
On this route, KLM competes with Emirates Airlines, Egyptair, Pegasus Airlines, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines.
From 30 November to 2015: Amsterdam - Cairo - 2 out of 4 weekly flights, departing from Amsterdam on Mondays and Fridays, replacing Boeing 777-200ER aircraft;

KL0554: CAI 04:05 - 07:50 AMS
On this route, KLM competes with EgyptAir.
From 2 December to 2015: Amsterdam - Quito - Guayaquil - Amsterdam - 2 out of 7 weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, replacing Boeing 777-200ER aircraft;
From 3 December to 2015: Amsterdam - Xiamen - 2 weekly flights, replacing Boeing 777-200ER aircraft;
From 2 March 2016: Amsterdam - Hangzhou - 2 weekly flights, replacing Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.
KLM has configured Boeing 787-9 aircraft in 3 classes and with a total of 294 seats: 30 seats in Business class, 48 seats in Premium Economiy and 216 seats in Economy class. Delivery schedule for Boeing 787-9 KLM aircraft: 2015 (2), 2016 (9), 2017 (5), 2018 (2), 2021 (1), 2023 (2), 2024 (1).
