On May 24, 2016, Boeing delivered the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner Air Austral aircraft. The aircraft was delivered from the Boeing base in Everett. During this day, the first Boeing 787-8 Air Austral lands "at home" at the Roland Garros Airport in Sainte-Denis, Réunion, after a flight of 16 kilometers.

The 2 Dreamliner, which will fly under Air Austral livery, will be configured in 2 classes: 18 seats in Business Class and 244 seats in Economy Class.

Air Austral is an airline based in 1975 and operates a fleet of 9 aircraft, including the new Dreamliner. Fly to 14 seasonal and permanent destinations, including Paris. It has the main hub at Roland Garros Airport, Sainte-Denis, Réunion.
