Boeing Delivers 50-747-8 Aircraft (Photo / Video)
On 29 May 2013, Boeing delivered the 50-747-8 aircraft, and it flies in the Lufthansa fleet, the launch customer for this model. The D-ABYI registered aircraft is the 7 747-8i of the German carrier fleet and was delivered fixed one year from the first commercial flight, on the route Frankfurt - Washington, operated with this type of aircraft.
To date, Boeing has delivered 35 747-8 cargo aircraft and 15 747-8i passenger units, of which 8 is Boeing Business Jet. Cargolux Airlines was the carrier that took possession of the first 747-8 Freighter since October 2011.
The 747-8 aircraft is built from over 6 million parts delivered by 550 from suppliers, from 30 countries. In the United States there are over 450 of suppliers who deliver parts for the largest aircraft manufactured by Boeing.
