Bologna - Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara and Targu Mures with Wizz Air since March 31, 2013
Wizz Air has announced 5 new routes to be operated from Bologna Airport, starting from March 31 to Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Târgu Mureş and Sofia. It is estimated that these routes will carry over 220.000 passengers in the first year of operation.
Wizz Air already operates from 14 Italian airports, and the fleet of 40 new Airbus A320 aircraft performs flights from 30 countries on 260 routes. Prices for new routes are available from 22.99 Euro, and flights can be booked on wizzair.com.

So Wizz operates on 260 destinations with 40 planes… ..TAROM with 23 planes to how many destinations does it fly ??? Shouldn't it be around 130, that is, about halfway ??????
Not! Wizz Air does not need bases to operate flights. A full service cannot open bases so easily and cannot operate outside the bases because it has to ensure all the conditions on the ground, from catering and fuel supplier to technicians.
At low cost it is very simplified, they use the services offered by the airports in the province, which are quite simplified…
Wizz Air is the normal low cost that you have to cut down on expenses. How many companies hire their technicians at each airport they land?
Mihai, most all full service companies are based on the standards to which they must operate. Why do you think big full service companies go through the main hubs? Air France flies via Paris, Lufthansa flies via Frankfurt, Munich, KLM flies via Amsterdam.
The low-cost ones can assign a plane to any airport they want and from there to operate several routes a day.
