BREAKING NEWS: Flights from Romania are suspended throughout the alert period, until June 16, 2020
We come with less pleasant news for those waiting for flights to / from Romania. Conformable DECISION no. 394 of 18 May 2020 on the declaration of the state of alert and the measures applied during it to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we found that flights from / to Romania are suspended throughout the alert period.
Specifically, according to Annex 3, we have the following: Suspension of flights by economic operators from aviation to Italy; ❌Spania; ❌Germania; ❌Franţa; ❌Austria; ❌Belgia; ❌Elveţia; ❌SUA; ❌United Kingdom; ❌Olanda; ❌Turcia; ❌Iran and from these countries to Romania for all airports in Romania, according to art. 37 of Law no. 55/2020.
According to HG, this decision applies throughout the alert state, which will expire on June 16, at 21:59 UTC. Article 4 of Annex 3, which mentions the suspension of flights, does not have a defined period.
ROMATSA issued a NOTAM* restricting flights until 16 June 2020 - A1478 / 2020.
NOTAM - notification distributed by means of telecommunications containing information on the condition or modification of an installation, a service, a procedure or a danger to air navigation, the knowledge of which is absolutely necessary for the flight attendants.
Approved by DECISION no. 394 of May 18, 2020, published in the Official Gazette, Part I, no. 410 of May 18, 2020.
Annex 3, Article 4: In conditions art. 5 para. (3) lit. d) of Law no. 55/2020, the following measures shall be established: 1. Suspension of flights by aviation operators to Austria, Belgium, the Swiss Confederation, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Spain, the United States of America and Turkey, and from these countries to Romania for all airports in Romania, according to art. 37 of Law no. 55/2020. Let's hope that the law will be amended in Parliament soon or an emergency ordinance will be approved to amend law 394/2020 and thus resume flights.

The official press release of 15 May 2020 clearly states that flights are suspended for a period of 14 days from the time of the press release, ie until 29 May.
If flights were suspended for the entire period of the alert state, there would be no need to specify this date.

Yes, only today ROMATSA gave NOTAM to suspend flights until June 16. In the GD, approved by the parliament, Article 4 does not have a defined period, consequently it applies throughout the alert state.

Well, I don't think you have flights from Germany to Romania. If the suspension is maintained until June 16, at 23:59, it means that all regular / frequent flights will be suspended between Romania and Germany and then you do not have the connecting flight to Romania…

Those are charter / repatriation flights. There are no frequent-regular flights. Charter flights are made under the approval of the authorities in order to bring to Romania citizens of this country with all those conditions for entry into the country.
