Brussels Airlines has announced that eligible passengers will soon be able to check their COVID-19 documents from home to avoid waiting at the airport.

According to a press release issued by Brussels Airlines, starting today, August 18, the airline will allow passengers traveling to France, Portugal, Spain and Greece to check their required health documents remotely.

Through this new service, Brussels Airlines aims to make the travel process easier, more accessible, as well as to limit the number of people waiting at the airport to verify the COVID-19 document.

"With this new service, the airline wants to make the journey easier and more accessible and to limit the queues at the check-in counters at the airport. Passengers eligible to check documents at home will receive an invitation to upload their documents via notification emails sent 6, 3 and 1 days before departure ", is shown in the Brussels Airlines statement.

Once the required documents are uploaded, an encrypted email will be sent to the Lufthansa Group center, and then the documents will be verified. As soon as the documents are approved, the passenger will receive a confirmation email and will be able to complete the online check-in.

However, if a document is missing or missing travel documents or has been uploaded but does not meet the established conditions, the system will inform passengers and request the loading of missing or incorrect documents. It was pointed out that if this happens, passengers will not be able to complete the online check-in procedure.

"If documents are missing or uploaded documents do not comply with the rules, the center will inform the passenger and request the loading of missing documents. In this case, the passenger will not be able to use the online check-in ", Brussels Airlines added.
