Brussels Airlines will cancel 900 flights in February and March, after the number of bookings was very low due to travel restrictions imposed globally.

More and more passengers are canceling their flights because government authorities are tightening rules on non-essential travel. Specifically, Brussels Airlines will operate a small number of flights, only 7% in February and 12% in March, compared to the same period in 2019. The announcement was made by the company's spokesperson, Kim Daenen, to the news agency Belgian.

Brussels Airlines will reimburse the full cost of the canceled tickets.

Passengers whose flights have been canceled will be notified in advance and will have the opportunity to book another flight or request a full refund.

Brussels Airlines offers flexible tickets due to the uncertainty of pandemic travel. From September 2020, any passenger booking a ticket through Brussels Airlines can cancel it free of charge.

Tourist destinations that disappear completely from the flight schedule for the next two months include Barcelona, Prague, Rome, Gothenburg or Vienna. However, flights to Africa will be operated at 40% capacity compared to the same period in 2019.
