Health Minister Kostandin Angelov wants to take tougher measures to limit the spread of new strains reported in Europe and globally.

"Today we will take action to introduce mandatory COVID-19 PCR testing for all travelers wishing to enter the country, including the European Union," Angelov was quoted as saying at a government meeting. Reuters.

Bulgaria has seen a significant drop in new infections in recent weeks and plans to ease some restrictions and reopen schools, shopping malls and gyms from 4 February.
