Vaccination against COVID-19 will become a priority for all those who will travel to Australia, with the reopening of international borders. If there is no evidence of a vaccine, passengers will have to be quarantined for a period of 14 days at a hotel or government-authorized unit.

The choice of passengers to be vaccinated or quarantined was marked by Stuart Robert, the Minister of Government Services, who added that The government is working to ensure that Australian vaccination certificates are accepted worldwide.

Although he does not believe that the resumption of international travel for Australians is appropriate in the current situation, Stuart Robert said that "the opening of borders will require the vaccination of travelers and will require the presentation of certificates attesting to this".

Digital vaccination certificates will also be issued.

The Australian Immunization Registry will be used to issue digital vaccination certificates through smartphone applications, starting with government applications MyGov and Express Plus Medicare.

As previously reported, the new digital version of the passenger card received from Australia for all passengers entering Australia could also include proof of COVID vaccination.

Qantas Airlines, through CEO Alan Joyce, is firm in position: get vaccinated or stay home! With the start of the vaccination process against COVID-19, only those who will prove vaccination will be able to board their planes.
