Carpatair wins the battle with Timisoara airport

Carpatair blamed the Timisoara airport for applying discriminatory rates. In mid-September, the Competition Council conducted an inspection at the headquarters of the National Society of Timisoara International Airport "Traian Vuia". The investigation followed a possible abuse of the company's dominant position, manifested, in particular, by establishing discriminatory tariff conditions for the provision of ground handling services and for access to the airport infrastructure. Carpatair was disadvantaged in front of Wizz Air.

On November 11, an irrevocable sentence was given, and Carpatair obtained the decision to cancel the state aid granted to Wizz Air by Timisoara International Airport "Traian Vuia".

It appears that Wizz Air has received illegal state aid as part of a global discount for 70t MTOW (Maximum takeoff weight) aircraft. On 30 August 2011, the Timis Court had admitted the request made by Carpatair canceling the measure of the state aid granted by Timisoara Airport through global discounts on airport taxes up to 85%.

The battle was not against Timisoara Airport, but against Wizz Air, it is good that you wake up one day after posting the competition.

The information is taken from a law firm that handled the case :). But these are details! :)
