Cătălin Radu PRUNARIU is the new general manager at TAROM
The change in the company's management comes in the context in which, starting with 2020, the aeronautical industry entered the most acute crisis in its history, especially in the passenger transport segment, which also affected TAROM. However, the domestic airline managed to survive the first year of the crisis, mainly due to the adjustment of operations and the exploitation of new opportunities in the segment of scheduled flights.
With the taking over of the mandate, the general manager Cătălin PRUNARIU aims to implement and consolidate an efficient and sustainable operating model, by adapting the company's role on the air transport market, both at national and European level, in order to ensure profitability and stability. long term.
In this sense, the new general manager of TAROM welcomes and continues the steps started by his predecessor, Mr. Mihăiță Ursu, whom he thanks for all the effort made within the company, including for the important steps taken to start the restructuring process.
"Completing the organizational and personnel restructuring, renewing and standardizing the aircraft fleet, financial reform, streamlining commercial and marketing activities as well as extensive digitization are the major objectives that will support the relaunch of the company, but also its transformation into the main player in the market. air transport in Romania ", transmits Cătălin PRUNARIU.
General Manager Cătălin Prunariu started working at TAROM in 2009, as a co-pilot, later working as a pilot-in-command, instructor and examiner. In parallel, between 2012 and 2017, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority. In the period 2019-2020, he held the position of chief inspector for air operations. He was appointed Director General of TAROM as Director of Flight Operations.
