Cathay Pacific bought HK Express / HK Express subsidiary Cathay

On 19 July 2019, Cathay Pacific bought the Hong Kong Express. Officially, the transaction is completed. Hong Kong Express Airways (HK Express) is part of Cathay Pacific Group.

HK Express will continue to be its own branded airline and operate low-cost flights. The operating model of the airline will not change.

With this acquisition, Cathay Pacific is strengthening its Hong Kong base. Thus, Cathay Pacific and HK Express will be operationally complementary. Cathay Pacific is one of the best airlines in the world, operating full-service flights.

HK Express has a fleet of 24 Airbus aircraft: 8 x Airbus A320-200; 5 x Airbus A320neo and 11 x Airbus A321-200. Fly to 27 from destinations in China, Japan, Taiwan Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.

Cathay Pacific owns a fleet of 134 aircraft, all wide-body: 32 x A330-200; 23 x A350-900; 12 x A350-1000; 15 x 777-300; 51 x 777-300ER.

Fly to 77 from destinations around the world, including Switzerland, Great Britain, Italy, Ireland, France and Belgium.
