Cathay Pacific introduces new Airbus A321neo aircraft on flights to Shanghai

Cathay Pacific's state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft will enter commercial service on August 4, 2021, when it will operate the inaugural flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai (Pudong). The airline plans to use the plane for flights to Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Kaohsiung and Taipei in August.

Cathay Pacific has already received four A321neos and will receive two more in the second half of 2021. It will have a total of 16 A321neos aircraft in its fleet by the end of 2023. The aircraft can carry up to 202 seats, configured in 2 classes , with 12 places in Business class and 190 places in Economy class.

On August 4, Cathay Pacific will introduce the new Airbus A321neo aircraft into operational service on flights to Shanghai.

The A321neo is the first aircraft to feature Cathay Pacific's new Regional Business Class seats. This state-of-the-art seat offers a cocoon feel, has separating screens for maximum privacy, while the 4-inch 15.6K Ultra-HD TV screens offer an incredible in-flight entertainment experience. Meanwhile, Economy class seats feature 4-inch 11.6K TV screens, along with a generous recline, comfortable seat cushions and new adjustable headrests.


With the A321neo, Cathay Pacific is the world's first airline to offer high-definition 4K displays, a 4K on-demand video experience, and Bluetooth audio streaming (being progressively introduced) in all cabins. Customers will be able to watch Hollywood blockbusters in 4K using their own Bluetooth headphones.

In addition, the A321neo will have a new and improved content selection, offering one of the largest movie and TV libraries available on a regional single-aisle aircraft. The aircraft will also have high-speed Wi-Fi on board, customers can access emails or stay in touch with friends and family. Cathay has added new extra-large storage bins in all cabins, providing 60% more passenger space to store your hand luggage.


In addition to incredible customer comfort, the A321neos are also more efficient than ever. Thanks to the elegant wings and advanced LEAP engines, they offer a 22% reduction in CO2 emissions on the spot, compared to the previous A321 aircraft. They are also quieter, creating almost 15% less noise than existing aircraft.
