CFR Călători established the running of the trains on the route Gara de Nord - Otopeni Airport. There will be 2 intermediate stations.
On 21 September, the railway connection Gara de Nord - Henri Coandă Airport was inaugurated with great pomp. President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Ludovic Orban took a ride on a CFR train on the section connecting the North Station to Henri Coanda Airport.
The problem is that the new railway section will not be used before December 12. Information has emerged that a private operator will make the connection between Gara de Nord and Otopeni Airport. But there was also information about the running of trains from CFR for the winter season 2020-2021.
It's not an official source, but smoke without fire doesn't exist. We are glad to see that CFR Călători will ensure the connection between Gara de Nord and Otopeni Airport. Unfortunately, trains will run every hour. The existing infrastructure does not allow more rotations. At the same time, we must mention that the trains will make 2 more stops: Mogoșoaia Park and Țiriac's skating rink.
The first train will leave Gara de Nord at 05:00 and the last train from Otopeni Airport will depart at 23:30. The duration of a trip will be 21-23 minutes.
That being said, we are waiting for December 12 to enjoy the train journey from / to Otopeni Airport - Bucharest.
