China Airlines, Taiwan's largest airline, has ordered six Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) aircraft. The order is valued at 2 billion dollars at list price and includes the right to order another four units. This is the first 777-300ER purchase made by the Taiwanese carrier.
China Airlines is undergoing a large fleet modernization process, particularly on long trans-Pacific flights to North America and Asia. The newest and most modern Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will help the airline strengthen its position on the Taiwanese market and grow worldwide.
Boeing 777-300ER China Airlines aircraft will be configured with three classes and will have the capacity to carry up to 350 passengers. The autonomy of an 777-300ER aircraft is up to 14 490 km. In addition to this order, China Airlines will lend four aircraft from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS). The aircraft will be delivered starting with 2014.
It is an action of the future and very optimistic. These aircraft will replace the Airbus A340 models and will provide more passenger comfort. In the long term, this acquisition will prove profitable in the context of rising fuel prices, and passengers are becoming more demanding!
