Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced a new route from its base in Cluj-Napoca. Starting from 19 December, WIZZ will operate two flights a week, Tuesday and Saturday, from Cluj-Napoca to Dubai World Central Airport.

Wizz Air was the first airline to operate flights to Dubai World Central on 2013. The airport was designed to become the main aviation center in the region and is projected to become one of the busiest airports in the world in the next ten years.

With this new service, Wizz Air offers a total of 93 routes to 42 destinations from 15 countries, from eight airports in Romania, with two routes now connecting Romania from the United Arab Emirates. Tickets on the new Wizz Air route to Dubai will go on sale starting today and can be booked on wizzair.com starting at 269 lei.

Daniel de Carvalho, Wizz Air spokesman, said:

"We are delighted to announce such an interesting destination for our flights from Cluj-Napoca. The new route to Dubai strengthens WIZZ's market leadership position in Romania and consolidates our offer of popular holiday destinations for customers in Transylvania. The decision to increase the offer of services to Dubai from Romania comes as a result of the good results we enjoyed with the Bucharest-Dubai route. We are confident that this new service will be very well received by our customers, who can now enjoy a holiday in a very popular destination throughout the year, thanks to low WIZZ rates. ”
