From December 16, 2016, Cluj-Napoca - Birmingham with Blue Air. Blue Air expands its presence at Cluj-Napoca Airport by opening flights to Birmingham. The new flight will operate three times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Cluj-Napoca Airport becomes Blue Air's sixth operational base starting this fall. The base will be opened shortly after the opening of domestic flights between Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.

Blue Air started operations on Cluj-Napoca Airport on 3 June 2016, by opening routes to Bucharest, Liverpool and Dublin. Ranked as the seventh largest airport in the country, with 10.187.122 passenger traffic in 2015, Birmingham is served by Blue Air and Bucharest.

Blue Air registered significant increases this year, both in terms of the number of passengers carried and the number of aircraft that make up the fleet. The company estimates 50% increase in traffic over the previous year, to a total of 3,2 million passengers in 2016. By the end of June, Blue Air will operate a fleet of 28 Boeing 737 aircraft.
Blue Air passengers will be able to travel in optimal conditions on the new Cluj-Napoca - Birmingham route. They will benefit from safety, increased comfort and rates starting from 29.99 euros. The price is per flight segment, taxes included, limited seats. The rate includes free hand luggage up to 10 kg.
