In the autumn of last year, Wizz Air announced new routes to / from Romania. On September 9 I wrote an article presenting the routes Bucharest - Glasgow, Bucharest - Hamburg Lubeck and Cluj-Napoca - Munich Memmingen (28 March 2016).
Here, the new Cluj-Napoca - Munich Memmingene route opened much earlier than the originally announced deadline. On 15 February 2016, Wizz Air began operating flights on this route. Wizz Air will operate flights between Cluj-Napoca and Memmingen, the regional airport west of Munich, on Mondays and Fridays. Prices start from 24.99 € / 109 lei.
Wizz Air has continued to expand in Cluj-Napoca over the years and will add the 5 aircraft to its base in Cluj-Napoca in July 2016. Cluj-Napoca's summer schedule includes airfare to Alicante, Billund, Doncaster / Sheffield and Berlin, all starting in the following weeks. Wizz Air also announced a new one internal route between Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest, which will start July 22 and will be operated six times a week.
The growth of Wizz Air operations extends throughout Romania, with traffic increasing by 16% in 2015, compared to the previous year. Wizz Air will open its 6 base in Romania in July, in Iasi, and currently offers 110 destinations to 16 countries.
