Paris Air Show 2013: Embraer launches generation of E-Jet E2 aircraft

On 17 June 2013, within the aeronautical fair Paris Air Show 2013, Embraer has launched the new generation of E-Jet family aircraft. It is called the E-Jet E2 and includes the models E175-E2, E190-E2 and E195-E2. The E190-E2 model is expected to enter the operational service from 2018, E195-E2 from 2019 and E175-E2 from 2020.

The E175-E2 model has been extended with a row of seats, compared to the current generation E175, and will be able to carry up to 88 passengers. The E190-E2 aircraft has the same size as the current E190, and the capacity will be 106 of seats. E195-E2, compared to the current E195, has been extended with three rows of seats and will be able to carry up to 132 passengers.

E-Jets E2_Embraer

In addition to the new dimensions, the Embraer E-Jet E2 aircraft will have more economical engines, provide greater passenger comfort and be more efficient in operation. The cockpit of the new E2 aircraft will be shared with the current generation E-Jet for quick pilot adaptation.

With more than 1200 orders, Embraer achieved a market share of 42% in its segment. To date, over 950 E-Jet aircraft have been delivered to 65 customers from 47 countries. The X-NUMX E-Jet will be assembled this year, nine years after the launch of the first E-Jet family aircraft.

Embraer focuses a lot on small aircraft, dedicated to short-haul flights that can carry between 70 and 130 passengers. The Brazilian manufacturer estimates the market at 6400 for airplanes on this niche, in the next 20 years.

One estimated market at 35 000 for new aircraft in the next 20 years, there is more and more room for small aircraft manufacturers. Airbus and Boeing, the giants of the military and passenger aircraft manufacturing industry, are facing heavy orders and deliveries are being delayed.
