CNAB signed an investment contract worth 308 million lei for infrastructure modernization

Bucharest Airports National Company continues the infrastructure modernization process and announces the signing of the largest investment contract in the last 10 years. On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, CNAB signed the contract for "Systematization of the movement area of ​​AIHCB in order to increase the operational capacity and ensure compliance with the provisions of EU Reg. 139/2014 - Stage I".

The investment targets large-scale works on several aircraft taxiways: November, Papa, Victor, Whiskey, Charlie, as well as on Platform no. 2 – at the existing site and extension to the Delta taxiway. The works will increase the operational capacity of Henri Coandă Airport, to optimize the operating conditions of aircraft on the taxiways, as well as to increase the number of parking positions.

The works are part of the strategy of compliance with the certification specifications applicable for the operating conditions at AIHCB, provided for in the European Union Regulation no. 139/2014 of the European Commission regarding the establishment of technical requirements and administrative procedures related to aerodromes.

The contract, in the amount of 307.967.842,92 lei, excluding VAT, was awarded by SC PORR CONSTRUCT and provides design and assistance services in the amount of 18.227.000 lei and actual execution works in the amount of 289.740.842,92 lei.

Construction work will be completed in 24 months and will have a record warranty of 109 months. The Bucharest National Airports Company has already initiated the steps to carry out Stage II of the modernization and increase of the operational capacity of the infrastructure at Henri Coandă Airport, which further aims at extensive works on the Alpha, Bravo, Golf runways, as well as the modernization and expansion of the Platform no. 1 and Platform no. 2 to the south.
