CNAB: passenger traffic growing and profit of 78 million lei in the year 2013

At airports in Bucharest, passenger air traffic increased by 5.4% in December 2013, for the second consecutive month it exceeded five percent, as a result of the sustained efforts of the Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB) to attract new airlines and to increase the number of routes operated from Bucharest.

On a financial level, CNAB recorded in the year 2013 total preliminary revenues of 643.780.184 lei, with 5% higher than in the year 2012. The preliminary gross profit of CNAB reached 2013 at the value of 78.003.701 lei, more than three times higher than the budgeted one. The preliminary realized turnover of CNAB was in 2013 by 613.010.561 lei, increasing by 10% compared to 2012.

In 2013, the two airports of the Capital - Henri Coanda Bucharest International Airport and Bucharest Baneasa-Aurel Vlaicu International Airport - were transited by 7.649.503 passengers, the number of aircraft movements (landings and takeoffs) amounting to 95.984. Compared to 2012, the number of passengers increased by 1,35%.

In the year 2013, 84% of the passengers of Henri Coandă Airport had as origin or destination airports in the states of the European Union.

At Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport (AIHCB), 34 is currently operated by airlines, which transports passengers to 71 from destinations. In the year 2013, two new airlines began operating on AIHCB: easyJet Air and Air Serbia, and from March 2014, Ryanair will operate the first regular flights at Henri Coanda Airport.
